Profile | |
A first class bachelor of engineering in electronic systems graduate who is keen to find a position as an electronic / software engineer. One year’s industrial placement at FG Wilson has reinforced this ambition of becoming an engineer, it is clear that a career as an engineer is a challenging one but the rewards are high. For example the Modbus communication protocol that was developed for Access 4000 (FGW) was challenging, but when finished the satisfaction of seeing it working correctly after the weeks of problems is a tremendous felling of accomplishment, which make all the hard work seem worthwhile. Wide range of interest in all fields of engineering including mechanical, electrical, electronics and software. But with extreme ability and interest in digital & microprocessor electronics and computer programming (machine code, assembly, C, C++, BASIC, HTML). Reliable, punctual, always co-operative, hard working, thoughtful to others, team player, versatile and learns new tasks/skills quickly. |

Employment History | ||
FG Wilson Engineering LTD Placement year of BEng (hons) Electronic Systems + DIS was spent here. Worked in department "Electronic Control Design" and was involved in the design of both software (C, Visual C++, etc...) and hardware (e.g. PCB Board). An example of a project successfully completed was the design of the ModBus communication protocol for the Access 4000 control panel. This included the design of a simple DOS based test program for testing the protocol, and a Windows based (Visual C++) master program used to demonstrate the capabilities of the ModBus communication protocol fully in a user friendly environment. D Engineering This was a full time summer job, which involved undertaking lots of different mechanical engineering practices. Including the use of drilling machines, a saw cutting machine, a punching machine, hand held angle grinders, mig welders, reading of technical drawings etc… This was a good learning experience, working with and sharing ideas with experienced engineers. Enjoyed it very much. Although the electronics & computer side of engineering is preferred and hope my future career is in this area. Camco International Spent one week working here for work experience. It was an enjoyable week and learned a lot about CNC lathes, CNC milling machines and precision instruments. | 24/07/2000 to 31/08/2001 Old Glenarm Road, Larne, Co.
